New retractors have been developed to offer surgeons a wider range of options for patients with excessive soft tissue:
The new Long Retractors are 200 mm to 220 mm long and 23 mm wide.
The new Wide Retractors are 50 mm wide and 100 mm to 180 mm long.
Together with the existing Rib Retractor, Small Two-Piece Holding Ring (240 mm), Adjustable Ring Extensions, and Holder for Optics, they will be included in a new set, called SynFrame Auxiliary Instruments.

The smaller ring for SynFrame is 60mm less in diameter than the original version. The intended use is primarily for dorsal microdisc approach where the surgeon can support his hands during the surgery under the microscope and secondly for approached to the cervical spine.

If the SynFrame is used in the cervical spine of for lateral approaches to the thoracolumbar junction the ring shall be buckled during the surgery.
With the new connector the SynFrame can be adapted to the shape of the patient.
SynFrame Retractor Holder
The SynFrame Retractor Holder is free adjustable and features a catch mechanism.
