AO Trauma Course Advanced Principles of Fracture Management for Swiss Surgeons 2023

Der AO Trauma Course Advanced Principles of Fracture Management for Swiss Surgeons 2023 war ein voller Erfolg. Bei schönem Wetter trafen sich am 3. Dezember 2023 eine hochkarätige nationale Faculty von 16 ChirurgInnen sowie 60 hoch motivierte junge ÄrztInnen aus der ganzen Schweiz im schönen Davos. In spannenden interaktiven Diskussionen wurden die Prinzipien und Techniken für Frakturen der oberen und unteren Extremität genauer beleuchtet.

In angeregten kleineren Gruppen wurden täglich diese Themen an Fallbeispielen ausführlich besprochen und an hervorragenden Synbone-Modellen die entsprechenden Frakturen jeweils mittels Osteosynthese-Materialien fixiert, dies unter kompetenter Führung der nationalen Faculty. Die Vorträge, Diskussionen sowie Praktika wurden von den Teilnehmern als hervorragend beurteilt.

Die Woche war gespickt mit High Lights, besonders zu erwähnen sind die AO Davos Courses Night, die battle discussions über proximale Humerus- und hüftnahe Frakturen sowie die Gastvorträge von Emanuel Gautier sowie Christoph Aufdenblatten am Schlusstag. Mit einem Rucksack voller Erinnerungen kehren nicht nur die Teilnehmer auch wir als Faculty zufrieden zurück in den Alltag. Es war eine sehr lehrreiche Zeit, das Lernklima war hervorragend, und das Network hat viele neue Freundschaften hervorgebracht.

The AO Trauma Course Advanced Principles of Fracture Management for Swiss Surgeons 2023 was a remarkable success. On December 3, 2023, a distinguished national faculty comprising 16 surgeons and an enthusiastic cohort of 60 young doctors from all across Switzerland gathered in the picturesque setting of Davos. Engaging in dynamic and interactive discussions, the course delved into the intricacies of principles and techniques for managing fractures in both upper and lower extremities.

Participants actively participated in smaller groups, engaging in in-depth discussions on each topic through the analysis of case studies. Practical sessions were a highlight, featuring the application of osteosynthesis materials on exceptional synbone models under the expert guidance of the national faculty. The overall quality of lectures, discussions, and hands-on experiences earned excellent ratings from all participants.

The week was punctuated with standout moments, including the AO Davos Courses Night, battle discussions on proximal humerus and fractures around the hip joint and insightful guest lectures by Emanuel Gautier and Christoph Aufdenblatten on the final day. Armed with a wealth of memories, both participants and faculty returned to their daily practice with a sense of fulfillment. The instructive ambiance cultivated a conducive learning environment, fostering the formation of numerous new friendships within the network.
