Learning from the best at the AO Davos Courses
More than 1,500 health care professionals from over 100 countries took part in the AO's flagship educational event, the AO Davos Courses 2019.
During the event they had the chance to experience the latest approaches to education, training, and treatment, learning from leaders in their fields. The face-to-face nature of the AO Davos Courses means that participants can interact with their peers and learn from each other, and also put their questions directly to clinical experts.
Outstanding surgeons are not automatically outstanding teachers. Faculty development plays a key role in helping expert surgeons become excellent teachers. It also provides opportunities for faculty to challenge themselves while advancing their careers. Empowering orthopedic and trauma surgeons to translate theory into practice requires the highest quality instruction.
AO Alliance joined with AO Trauma and the AO Education Institute to deliver a special coaching program for AO faculty for sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. The goal: for participants to embrace lifelong learning for themselves and facilitate it for other surgeons who seek to enhance their knowledge and skills. The ten AO Alliance faculty who attended were able to put their newly acquired skills into practice immediately: coaching AO Trauma faculty during the first week of the AO Davos Courses.
