AO Trauma Hand NA Online Live Series—Complications in Upper Limb Surgery

Learn how to manage complications in the hand and upper limb with multidisciplinary clinical, legal, ethical, and psychological perspectives

Description

Adverse events can happen during surgery of the hand and upper limb. Some of these are avoidable, while others may result from unforeseen events, suboptimal execution of procedures or suboptimal rehabilitation.

Whether it is a pre-operative, intra-operative or post-operative procedure, surgeons need to know how to deal with these complications not only from a clinical perspective but also from a legal, ethical and psychological perspective.

A holistic approach, with assistance from other disciplines, colleagues and hand therapists is critical in making sure that the best possible outcome can be achieved, despite the complication.

This series will be conducted weekly on Thursdays starting on May 5, 2022 and will run through June 16, 2022.
